Dear Slate Valley Families, Thank you so very much for all of your patience and cooperation these last couple of weeks. The reopening of school has gone well due in no small part to all of your support. The cross-state travel map changed today and as such many of the counties that you may travel to in NY state are now on the travel restriction list. Please make sure to check this map if you are planning any travel out of state as it may impact your child's ability to attend school in person. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact your school administration. https://accd.vermont.gov/covid-19/restart/cross-state-travel Thank you and have a wonderful weekend! Best, Brooke Farrell, Superintendent

Dear Fair Haven Union High School Community, When the initial Fall Sports Guidance came out from the Agency of Education it was expected that athletic contests between schools could start as early as September 21st IF we had entered Stage III of Vermont's School Reopening Plan. Superintendents were told today, by Secretary French that there will be an official announcement next week on when school districts can move to Stage III. As such schools across Vermont will not be moving to Stage III next week (September 21st). Therefore there will not be any athletic contests between schools next week. Districts are expecting to receive notice at least a week in advance on moving forward to Stage III so games will not start until such time. We will continue the status quo in terms of athletics at FHUHS. Thank you for your continued support during this difficult time. As always please reach out with any questions. Best, Brooke Farrell

With games scheduled to start next week, here are some important reminders in regards to our FHUHS Athletic COVID procedures & protocols: All spectators, game staff, players, and coaches are required to wear a mask. Single ply gaiters and plastic face shields are not permitted. Anyone without a face mask will not be allowed to enter the facilities. Games are restricted to 150 spectators. Every athlete (home and away) will receive (2) “tickets” for parents and guardians. These tickets must be collected 10 minutes prior to game time, otherwise, they will be offered to general admission. If you are a parent / guardian that knows they won’t be able to make it 10 minutes prior to a specific game, please contact Ali Morgan to set up an alternative plan. Additional tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. The number of general admissions tickets available will vary game to game based off of roster size. Spectators will not be allowed re-entry if they leave the facilities. Once you leave the facilities you must immediately leave school grounds. All fans, players, coaches, and game staff are expected to leave immediately following all games. Loitering is not permitted. There will be a $5 fee per person for all home soccer and football games. We ask that you please bring exact change. All spectators, game staff, coaches, and athletes will be screened prior to being admitted. Contact tracing will also be required. All spectators will enter through Pine Street and will be admitted through one point of entry (Charlotte’s Shack). We encourage everyone to bring their own lawn chair if available. Bleachers will be available, but 6 ft social distancing between families is required. Building access will not be permitted unless there is an emergency situation. The concession stand will not be open this fall for beverages and snacks. Portalets will be available at home games. Live-streaming of home games will be offered when available. If administration feels that the rules are not being followed, you may be asked to leave.
