During Library Class with Mrs. Rampone, students in grades K-4 read The Midnight Fair by Gideon Sterer. In the book, at midnight, woodland animals decide to go to the fair after all the humans leave. They go on the rides, play games and eat all kinds of fair food! Students in K-1 colored carousel horses and designed strips of paper for a roller coaster. Grades 2-4 created rides, games and concession stands. What kinds of rides do you like? Fast or slow? What is your favorite food to eat at the fair? Thank you Hubbardton Forge for welcoming our students over the past months. Students enrolled in the Career Exploration course were able to witness first hand the various departments of Hubbardton Forge. Employees graciously gave time out of their busy schedule to share their expertise. Eating donuts, handing out t-shirts and taking a great photo culminated this wonderful collaborative opportunity. Slate Valley is appreciative for this community partnership.

Chief Montello, of the Castleton Police Department, along with Superintendent Brooke Farrell and other district administration discussed Threat Assessment last night at the first of four presentations in the School Safety Series. The next presentation will be about ALICE Training, occurring on February 8th, 6 to 7:30 PM at the Fair Haven Union Middle and High School Library. This series is free and open to the public.
