STAR360 assessments will start for middle school students tomorrow, February 7th. Research indicates that students perform best on these assessments when they get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and bring supplies they need. Please help your student be prepared so they can do their best.

This spring semester is THE BEST time for you to tackle taking the SAT or ACT college entrance exams. These scores are a common request in the college application process. Below are listed the remaining test dates during this school year as well as the cost of each exam. (Note: VSAC and your School Counselors have information on FEE WAIVERS that could make the test FREE for eligible students so see us ASAP for more details!) To get set up to take either test: 1) Visit the testing agency web site 2) Set up your Student Account on that site. 3) Search the Test Registration section of the testing site for your preferred Test Date. (YES, you can take the test more than once...and research says you probably should!) 4) Complete the Registration Process to secure your seat. Your School Counselor can assist with ALL steps in this process -- OR you can do this on your own. If you need Test Accommodations, please see your School Counselor NOW to start that additional process. By the way, we also have great resources to help you study for these exams 8-) REGISTER FOR THESE TESTS ASAP!! Good Luck! Ms. Ramey, Mr. Gale, and Ms. Cross-Baker

Students in Mrs. Clement's Foods classes culminated their semester with a great final project. They worked with Fair Haven Concerned and obtained a list of foods they were in excess of. Students then looked up recipes using these ingredients and created instructional videos of how to make each dish. The recipes were written down and included QR codes for scanning to each related video. On Friday, the cards were dropped off at Fair Haven Concerned. They were really excited to see what was done. Mrs. Clement, along with all of Slater Nation, is super proud of their accomplishment. Follow the link to see the recipes and QR codes to the related videos. https://bit.ly/FHURecipes

FHUMHS students successfully practiced an "Options-Based" drill today. The purpose of the drill is to build students' awareness on how to react to different safety issues. Groups practiced evacuations or barricading rooms dependent upon their location within the building. Thank you for supporting our safety procedures. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
