Thank you to the wonderful educators at Champlain Orchard for sharing your knowledge with us! Our students enjoyed learning about the different types of apples, the life cycle of the Apple, how to plant and care for the trees, nutritional facts and how to store and process apples. It was a bonus to here how you operate your orchard by solar power as well! Thank you for a great day of learning for our students. ☀️🍎

Thank you to our wonderful Betcha Bus Drivers Shelley, Don, James, John and Nelson who taught our students today about bus safety and how to evacuate the bus in an emergency situation. Our students were so responsible and safe during this drill!!

As of this moment, Fair Haven Grade School and Fair Haven Union Middle & High School will be open tomorrow, September 1st, unless something new unfolds overnight. Water has been restored to the Town. However, we will be under a boil water advisory. This means staff and students cannot drink the water in the school. We will have bottled water on hand if needed. Staff and students are encouraged to bring their own. Linked here is information on a boil order advisory.

Additionally, hand sanitizer will be available if desired.
Breakfast and lunch will be made off site and transported to FHGS and FHUMHS. It will be a brown bagged breakfast and lunch.

Here's a brief update on the water situation as it relates to the opening of FHGS and FHUMHS tomorrow. Currently, we do not have water in the Town of Fair Haven. The Town fixed the original break but another occurred shortly after. The Town Manager will call later this evening with another update. We do not want to close school for a second day, so the decision will be pushed off as long as possible. A decision will be made before 8:00 PM tonight. If there is school tomorrow, there will be a boil water advisory, meaning staff and students cannot drink the water in the school. Bottled water will be on hand if needed. Staff and students are encouraged to bring their own. Breakfast and lunch will be made off site and transported to FHGS and FHUMHS. It will be a bagged breakfast and lunch.

Introducing the Slate Valley Mascots! This year we will have various events where our mascots compete against each other, called Slate Valley Mascot Madness. On opening day in-service for Faculty and Staff, the mascots competed in a quick Hula Hoop Race, with Blue from Benson winning by quite a substantial margin. Stay tuned for more upcoming events!
