Thank you Hubbardton Forge for welcoming our students over the past months. Students enrolled in the Career Exploration course were able to witness first hand the various departments of Hubbardton Forge. Employees graciously gave time out of their busy schedule to share their expertise. Eating donuts, handing out t-shirts and taking a great photo culminated this wonderful collaborative opportunity. Slate Valley is appreciative for this community partnership.

Do you really get the internet service providers say you do on the FCC Map? Click the link to check and to file a challenge if the info is wrong. Correcting it could mean tens of millions of additional federal dollars for Vermont and more affordable service for Vermonters! 1. Visit the FCC National Broadband Map website. https://broadbandmap.fcc.gov/home 2. Type your address into the Search by Address field and press the enter key. The map will zoom in on your location. On the right of the screen are the reported broadband service providers and maximum connection speeds they offer for sale at your location. 3. Review the reported services. 4. If the reported services are available at your location, you’re all done with the availability assessment! If the reported service availability is inaccurate, we encourage you to enter an availability challenge. 5. If you are having difficulties, call the Consumer Affairs Hotline (800) 622-4496. Meet Custodian Tammy Davis
During the months of November and December, the 7th grade students at FHUMHS focused on the value of gratitude. They learned about the positive power of being grateful and sharing that gratitude with others. As a culminating activity, the 7th grade students created children’s books with morals centered around the importance and power of practicing gratitude. On December 21st, the 7th grade students walked to Fair Haven Grade School and spent time with all primary classes, grades Kindergarten through third. The middle school students read their books to the younger students, along with doing a craft highlighting gratitude. Each book created was gifted to one of the primary classrooms to become a part of their personal class library. Great job 7th graders, you were all wonderful role models and mentors for our primary students. Click the link to see a slideshow of photos from this event. https://youtu.be/W7K2z-4LKf0
